Where do you all buy your washers or disks or shiners or whatever you call them in your area? Berntsen will sell them with stamping for $1 a washer, which isn't terrible in my opinion. Just wondering if there was another source I could be purchasing them from.
I hate to state the obvious, but if it is for occasional use, I make my own out of blank brass washers using letter/number stamps.
I buy my markers from http://www.surv-kap.com/Nails-Survey-Washers/Aluminum-Washers-Discs&apos ;">Surv-Kap . I actually use one of their 2-inch aluminum washer discs with a 3/8-inch spike as a control point, but they sell smaller ones for less money. I buy them with my professional identification stamped on them and add a Pt. No. in the field. It makes it pretty much impossible not to keep track of whaich point is which.

If you go with the 2-1/2" brass disks, they are free:

Yes, but those have square holes in them. That may mean that you need a hand-forged spike for them.
We use them all the time benchmarks in trees, traverse points, and CL control.... I use 2 or 3 a day it seems. We stamp the LB # and business name. Thanks the alternate sources.
We get ours from http://www.bathey.com
$0.29 to $0.59 each depending on material of disk and type of stamping needed. I order 1000 of the stainless steel 11/2" and get them for $0.25 each.
Don't your snow plows rip these out every winter??
Oh, wait....
I have been very satisfied with National Band & Tag out of Kentucky. https://nationalband.com/industrial-and-commercial-tags/survey-tag-samples/
