If this is a 2D survey - two days of field time, 1 day in the office, and 1 night (before I go out there). If it is a topo -- double the time.

I've done large construction projects by myself, but it was for a good client that I knew wouldn't make me wait.

I have a niche market for smaller boundary, permitting and home construction, so that's what I focus on. I stay very busy and profitable by NOT going after stuff all over the region.

You have to find the market that you fit into.

In Bruce Small's neck of the woods, large shopping centers are everywhere, and he has that stuff figured out!

So don't think of it as too big or small, but focus on what you like to do that makes money. After that, it's all gravy!
