What I told him

What I told the individual was that when the laws were changed that defined photogrammetry as land surveying practice, the Board grandfathered a number of practioners thereby bestowing a "Photogrammetric Surveyor" license. This was a one time shot and no other licenses were ever issued and will not be.

I explained that technically speaking all licensed land surveyors in California are photogrammetrists. Practically speaking, most land surveyors do not have the unique experience or qualifications to practice within that area of expertise so individuals that were nationally certified typically performed those tasks.

I also explained that his marketing and services were to be directed to land surveying or engineering firms that staff licensees authorized to stamp and sign topographic survey work.

I knew enough about photogrammetry to pass the test in 1982 but I wouldn't even recognize the equipment if I tripped over it. What's this national certification or whatever you just said, I forgot to open this reply in a new window? When I need photogrammetry I use a couple of different services, usually the one that sends a big box of chocolate at Christmas time, but the principal of that firm is an LS, and I like that too.
