I once bought a really nice rain coat ...then 30 seconds after getting out of the truck, I realized blackberries don't care how much you paid. Now I know why WA surveyors don't have fancy raincoats. Now, not sure I would trade blackberries for the impenetrable alder thickets of AK...

You are right about Alder, or bastard bush as I call it. That and the devil's club, but I think you have that in WA.
