I'd like to either have them printed or have a cheap way to view them outside of the FEMA Map Center.
Any thoughts?
I like paper maps using the FEMA catalog maps as an aid, but that is much more difficult since the new maps came out.
Trying to figure out the least expensive way to get a usable product.

The digital FIRMs I've bought recently are in PNG format. They're big files, but easily viewable with freeware applications like Xnview.
May I ask how much each map costs, ballpark?

Digital maps are $1.50 in all the instances I've seen.
:good:
I have a contact that may be able to get me what I need in .pdf format, but I'm not sure yet if they are the whole map or firmettes that he created and saved.
I would think full sized .pdf files would work.
Were you aware of this website?
It has been around for a few years.
It is great for viewing but for St. Tam., you can't print it seems.
I do not know about Tangi. I guess one can do a print screen to MS Word or such.
The nice thing is that one can overlay the old FIRM, Dfirm and the ABFE maps..
I have found the push pin locator only to be off by about 100 ft or so when one enters an address for search.
Just think that if it wasn't for Katrina, we would have been living with the new Dfirms for about 5 years now. The storm made FEMA go back to the 'drawing board' so to speak.
The new Dfirms have not been approved for St. Tam.,. Other parishes like Washington and apparently Tangi have let FEMA do what hey want to do without any 'debate' over the new maps.
Kindest rega;-) rds,
Yes, have been using it for awhile.
Thanks.
