Got this photo from one of my chiefs doing stakeout in a new subdivision. Message read "At least they saved the control..."

BEWARE, check it out with other control before using.
I returned to a project for a title survey of 10 acres.
While searching for control, I encountered a concrete r/w monument withing an area where a pipeline had been relocated.
I tied it in and found it to be 7?ñ EW and 2?ñ feet out NS of place from where it was located in 1983.
A large yellow machine had scooped it up while trenching and then grabbed the same scoop to set it back.
In result one of the neighboring properties had been surveyed to build fence and the other surveyor had used that concrete monument for control and his survey was 7?ñ feet EW and 2?ñ feet NS out of place.
