After only 21 years, I have to replace my stamp.?ÿ When I was first licensed, I purchased a trodat self-inking stamp from a local print supply shop.?ÿ I thought it was so cool because pressing from the top, the stamp rotated off of a self-inking pad to face downward and press flat on the paper.?ÿ So high-tech compared to my mentors old ink pad tin that they had to remove the lid, press the stamp into the ink pad and then stamp drawings.
The mechanics are still fine, but the rubber stamp portion has worn out enough that a corner broke off.?ÿ I haven't got a clue of if that is a long lasting stamp or if it broke too early.?ÿ But 21 years seems a pretty long time.
I know I'm not nearly the oldest fogey on the board.
So who has the oldest stamp still in use??ÿ Not counting embossers as they should last much longer!
I've been licensed 41 years, but I tend to replace my stamp every ten years.
Only recently did I start signing by digital signature, before that, it was required to have a embossed raised seal, we were never allowed to use an ink stamp in NJ.

?ÿ ?ÿ Sounds like you've been "rubber stamping" too much and wore it out.?ÿ ?ÿJust kidding.?ÿ You have the highest standards of excellence.?ÿ I got lucky on a stamp I bought from A-plus that I think is the most consistent.?ÿ The ink pad is built in behind/above the stamp.?ÿ You place the unit where you want to stamp, push down and a freshly inked stamp extends down onto the paper.?ÿ To refresh the ink every year or two, turn it upside down and use an ink bottle to drip ink on it.
Been licensed for a decade or so and I have NEVER used my physical stamp. It sits in my desk and gets dusty.
My rubber stamp was purchased in 1985 so I guess it's 36 years old.?ÿ It had a corner that tore off and I glued it back with rubber cement.?ÿ That was about 2005.?ÿ A lot of the detail is worn, but the name and registration number is still visible.
But with a disclaimer:?ÿ It has stayed in a drawer for probably 15 years.?ÿ Everything I do now is exclusively a digital stamp.
LS stamp since about 1988, but I'm on the second one and about due to get number three
PE stamp since 1980 still in fine condition.?ÿ Somewhere I have the clamping style embossed stamp for the PE but?ÿ have used it only once when providing a reference for an engineer applying to another state and that was their requirement.
My first rubber stamp is now 23 years old. I doubt that I have rubber stamped half that many documents. It's at home in a closet right now. I'm on my third ink pad, the first two simply dried up from old age.?ÿ ?ÿ?ÿ
My first rubber "stomp" (because that's what you had to do to it to make an even impression) I bought in 1972.?ÿ I got tired of cleaning the gooped up ink out from between the letters and finally ordered one of them thar fancy with-the-built-in-pad jobbers (2000PLUS printer R 50).?ÿ It took about five years to run out of ink, but can easily be re-inked.
36 years, still have the stamp and the crimp.?ÿ
Almost never use either, but the last time I did the stamp worked great.?ÿ
My rubber seal is 46 years old.

I need to buy one of these soon.?ÿ Anyone have a link to a brand or style that they think is excellent?
