I have not used OPUS much in the past year or so, but keep seeing comments here about it and some of the issues. Some seem to be guru's, some to be scratching their heads. My guess is I'm in the head scratcher crowd.

I've been afforded the opportunity to attend an NGS seminar (1 & 1/2 days) free of charge to experience what "OPUS Projects" can bring to the table. It's sponsored by NALS South Chapter (Nevada Assoc of Land Surveyors).

Any users and/or comments out there that I can bring up? It's Wed & Thu next week.

If it's the OPUS Projects Manager Training, reserve a seat right now, because they tend to go fast. (Here in CA, the seats were gone within a day or so of announcement.) If you do any sort of high-precision GPS positioning (2-hour minimum session length), OPUS Projects is a wonderful tool. Highly recommended.

Thanks Jim. I see it as a win-win deal for me. I am just a little guy and don't really do that much high precision cadastral work, but when I want to it's nice to have a bit more knowledge of what exactly I'm doing. Versus just going and measuring in a bunch of points and doing the usual survey stuff with them.

Attending this is a bit of a no brainer for me. I may or may not ever use it, but if it's on the cutting edge or at least close, I at least need to know where that tool is.
