Local council sent out a bid package. I looked at it but to do it the way it needed to be done seemed impossible. Then there was the amount of data necessary to bid the job, company information, personal info, names of your children, names you are going to name future children or grandchildren, the requirements went on and on.?ÿ
I contacted some firms to partner with us and they basically said, not possible this time of year.
Anyway, an off the top of the head price put me out of the ballpark for the job (I figured) unless you wanted to buy it for some reason. Well the bid was awarded and it went for a third of a reasonable price, and less than half of what I figured was a buy the job for wages only price. And there were two within $500 of the awarded bid, the next high one was $15,000 higher (almost double) and then you got into the buy the job price until the high bid which was $10,000 more than my quick look at it price. So glad I didn't fill all that package out, probably would have had at least $2,500 in just time doing it.?ÿ
Still trying to process what they were thinking,,,,,,,,and they almost lost out to a big firm with wayyyyyyy more overhead who was probably trying to use a new drone or something.?ÿ
?ÿ
Now this is a subject that I have been beating on for a long time. So, tell me, what was your "top of head" price and what was the price for the "winner"??ÿ
A few weeks ago I had a long thread about a job I priced at $148k and the "winner" was reportedly 3 to 5 times less.
?ÿ
My quick look price was 75k, that may be way off if I studied it more. Maybe I was way too high, maybe I was too low, the awarded bid was 1/3 of that, I do know that is low.
I'm patting myself on the back today happy that I didn't put time into working up a bid.
Nope, not "suprised". ?ÿNot even "surprised". ?ÿAnother day in the dysfunctional Survey family we are all supposed to love and adore.
