I just purchased a Nivo 5c and am trying to get it connected to my Allegro CX running SurvCE 2.62 via bluetooth. I've ran all over the interwebs and have found nothing that helps. It works fine using the cables I have, but would love the bluetooth functionality. Any help would be appreciated.

Nevermind, my shipment arrived with my new data collectors and won't need to figure this problem out anymore.

Perhaps it's a strange question but I find myself wondering why you'd buy a Nivo C with on-board Survey Pro software if you planned to use a different data collector.

I can think of a few good reasons but you've probably had the Allegro CX longer than the Nivo if both were bought new. The Nivo M is the same instrument without the Survey Pro and the CE OS.

Just curious...

Good question. Our field crew is much like an old dog, hard to teach it new things. The Nivo C was bought in a package deal. I did not know what it was coming with software wise. The on board software is great if we were only going to use the total station alone, but we also have GPS and need the ability to have one data collector run it all. We replaced the Allegro CX with a Surveyor+.

Makes sense in that light.
