@jitterboogie - Don't have an r12i but can appreciate the clever check shot to the base - verifies rod heights are probably good and IMU is working properly - genius!

@said-lot?ÿ

I'm sure I'm not the first to do that, but I realized as I was getting up to speed that it would be a productive thing.

?ÿ

I've gotten pan/lip shots under cats nearly horizontal and they were good shots.

?ÿ

still best to learn with an 8min bubble though. ?????ÿ

@jitterboogie?ÿ

Maybe, not sure. You would think walking around would be enough to keep it going after initially setting it up.?ÿ

That's the previous gen Leica from the one I was using (TCRP1203+). I read somewhere that the plus is more like a ts12 than the original 1200 series. Low bright sun was the only thing that would sometimes give it trouble and I was told that was improved with the newer ts16.?ÿ

@350rocketmike?ÿ

I have experienced that low bright sun and then surrounding yourself with lots of orthogonal windows....was truly hell.

@350rocketmike?ÿ

?ÿ

think inside courtyards of multi family housing with shade structures and garbage enclosures.

I'm gearing up to scan it next time it arises?ÿ

@jitterboogie?ÿ

I've only gotten the chance to scan my backyard on a Saturday. Need to get some experience with that.?ÿ

@350rocketmike?ÿ

@jitterboogie?ÿ

Don't think I saw what software and DC you are using with that new ancient Leica robot?

@jitterboogie?ÿ

I had a simulator of captivate that I played with and I actually thought it seemed pretty intuitive, but usually you don't find the most annoying things until you're using something in the real world. I wish I'd gotten the chance to try a captivate demo with the old Leica robot like I did with Carlson survPC, but at this point the only way I'd be switching from Trimble is if I switched jobs which is very unlikely.

The specs on the cs20 look very subpar compared to the tsc7 and even it is slightly slower than the Panasonic fz-m1 tablet I used to use. Still better than the cs15 that would have originally been used with that 1203 though.?ÿ

@350rocketmike I donƒ??t understand why imu is pain to set up. Turn on in survey style. For rover only. Then start your survey style like any other time. Only difference is walk around or rock the pole around as it gains initialization and off to the races. I do turn it off for observed control point method its under gnss function. And it has to re initialize . Just have the led facing you and your rod bubble and dc where all is good. ?ÿI am usually up and running before i get away from the base or truck good.
