is it possible the the way you use the term CORS is different than what most consider CORS.....

I've got to agree that this is probably the case. The CORS in my area are mostly on pipes attached to the sides of buildings - no setting up on them! And there are a half dozen of them within a 50 mile radius. I'd have to go well out of my way to even see one.

@norman-oklahoma yeah. At FIG. They showed some of those types of cors builds like shown above.  I have been to many CORS in GA. And VA.  And KY.  Even installed CORS in GA and aided in KY.  Now they were installed in GA for the VRS network. And we submitted them to NGS CORS program. Oh TN as well. Most of what we installed in GA where designed and on buildings. We did have one that was embedded into the earth.  Like a big pile concrete pillar.  Almost identical to the one used for relative antenna calibration at NGS Corbin.  We got the idea there. We did run levels to a couple in GA from benchmark.  NGS has done the same.  I reckon if one had to occupy a cors the. The antenna would need to be removed. But what and how would you orient yourself to check another cors. I guess we could perform astronomical observations. Figure out the arp would not be to difficult but would make for some fun.
