what is the opinion out there of a controller screen betwixt monochrome and color? we are currently using b/w and are shopping a color screen. so far, it seems the color screen gets washed out and hard to see on a clear, bright day.

thanks for your angles on this

We use Carlson Surveyors and have no problems seeing the screen as long as it's kept clean.

mono is fine by me. usually comes down to money. is the frill of a color screen worth the price difference in the units?

I have one of each. In bright sunlight, the monochrome is better in my opinion. In low light situations, the backlight on the color screen is better.

The monochrome unitI have is a TDS Ranger 200T, and the color unit is a TDS Ranger 500X.

Moe, I have used both, and prefer the mono screen outdoors. I am constantly having to rotate my data loggger to get decent light to read my color screen, I use trimble data loggers. The older you get, the more problem this is.
