HI!
I have like 2 dozen of those batteries that are now dead and unusable. I was in the process to throw them to the recycle site the town as for batteries and other hazardous material. But then I thought to ask here if anyone has found a place that do recell those batteries? Considering that they are all original Leica with the electronic chips that makes them compatible with the Leica GKL221 charger it would be great to have them recelled at a fraction of the cost they sell them here (180$ for a geb212).
I know that they are sealed and not made to be opened like the old total station battery we used to have. But maybe someone somewhere as found a way to do it?
Any input appreciated, thank you!
Robert
I have never used them but I saw someone else a while ago recommended these guys, http://surveybattery.com/index-2.html
First off I must say I really like your choice in beer, from looking at your picture!?ÿ I would call West Texas Battery and ask for a quote, I have had good success with them in the past with batteries not meant to be opened and their prices were reasonable.
Got 5 of them recelled at http://www.batteryrevival.com/leicawild.html?ÿ ( http://surveybattery.com ) and the GEB212 last 2 hours top, so about a third of the original Leica.
Better off paying more for the original.
