In my post below about setting a replica of Andrew Talcott’s oak post at the initial point of 5th PM Surveys in Minnesota & the Dakotas, you inquired what sort of barbed wire we will be stapling to it to complete the installation.

I like the ones with the little burrs on them, about 20 up from the bottom.

T.V. Allis Buckthorn

Well, I've always liked the T.V. Allis Buckthorn ribbon wire that it appears you have near the top of the board. It has the advantage of being an obvious wire that may be seen from a distance and is fairly sturdy in short sections. So I recommend the Buckthorn wire. Be sure to see if you can find some with the galvanizing in good shape. It'll last longer and that's important so that the corner can be found in the future. :>

T.V. Allis Buckthorn

Great samples of barb wire. I have never seen very many variations here in S.C.
