Went to Cologne and saw the Javad Triumph-VS. Generally the software is impressive but not complete yet. The tilt sensors work and you do not need a level-bubble to level your rod. However, system has to be on the pole to get vertical heights. They are working on a system to eliminate the pole completely. A laser distance meter is an option but a bit heavy and drains power. But with a laser installed, you get offsets to inaccsessible points as well.
Like all Javad equipment, support comes direcly from the Javad Support Team. You connect your gps through their software, and an engineer looks at your gps on his screen. He configures and upgrades your equipment and fixes any problem you may encounter. The Triumph-VS upgrades itself when connected to the internet. It checks and compares installed software to new versions and dowbloads and installs on its own.
Another feature that will be appreciateon is the implementation of NTRIP on the gps. Up to 5No. rovers can connect to the base, with no software installation on the PC or handheld. This also means for point-to-point gps setups, you can use gprs instead of gsm (cheaper than gsm, longer range than radios).
Another feature that I liked was the parallel RTKs runing to check each other.

I expect javad to seriously dominate the market, over the nxt 25 yrs.

Though I do not have GPS I have been watching this guy develop for the last few years. He has a lot on the ball and I agree with you.

My experience with Javad is he is long on theory and short on execution. Cables that look homemade, that sort of thing.
Maybe the new stuff is better but I'd stick with Trimble if it were up to me.
When I left Javad behind and took a job with Trimble GPS it was like night and day. The Trimble stuff actually seemed made for the rough conditions found in field work.
From what I have been reading, one can make the conclusion that Javad GNSS systems are the ONLY GNSS systems that use GLONASS in the location solutions. Is this true?
I was told that in any other brand the solution is GPS only.
It would seem to make sense, because I remember reading somewhere that Mr. Javad helped design the GLONASS system, so wouldn't he have a head start on implementing it?

Quality of manufacture is not better or worse than any of the main players. Cables the same. Note, you only need cables for charging. Like most manufacturers, they use Chinese chargers and cables. The rest is all wireless and bluetooth.
Javad is the only player that has pictures of their assembly plant on the web.
Adam that used to be true, in the early yrs. Everybody is using glonass now.
However, I think javad is ahead of the curve, as far as understanding HOW they all work together.

Ahead also in multi-path situations and malfunctioning satellites.
A few months ago, almost everybody had to switch off SVN49 due to satellite anomalies. Javad equipment and equipment based on Javad chips, just took it in their stride.
