Something else you can do to avoid long waits while some truck or equipment temporarily blocks your backsight is to collect a shot on a building corner or far away tower/mast/pile/pole/whatever.
Before the days of reflectorless guns I used the "shoot from 2 ends" function in TDS. But all you truly need is a line.
If you have 2 intervisible main control points when you are half way through the job, the Survey Spirits truly smile upon you.
