I'm betting on the baud rate mismatch being the problem, had it happen a while ago with Trimble equipment when I tried to speed up communication between the DC and TS/GPS.
@chris-bouffard My Leica Rep thinks it might be the long range bluetooth board.
We have pretty much the same setup you have, a Leica 1200 with a RH16 handle and a Trimble Nomad DC?ÿ (SurvCE) with a Parani SD1000 serial on it with the extended battery, so when I charge the DC?ÿ the?ÿ Radio battery chages as well.?ÿ ?ÿ At some point one of the wires I soldered in the DC got loose and the parani's battery didn't charge, so I lost connection the next day. Being alone I didn't have he option to ask someone to hold the prism pole and mark the points while I was by the instrument,?ÿ so I?ÿ connected the Nomad's on board "short range " bluetooth to the Radio handle hoping to get 30-50' of range. To my surprise it worked perfectly to 120m (360' ). Test your DC's on board bluetooth with your radio handle. You might get a range that could save your day.
