Found this cleaning files. We used the Gator for our semi-annual landfill volume calculations.

The mount was really simple. Lot's of open mounting holes on the gator bed but we decided over the rear wheel and on the right of the buggie. The mount itself is an old quick release from the Trimble ProXR. It's 10cm long and has a quick release that the Hiper fastens to and keeps it secure.

We could have used a 1 foot (short range pole) extension but the shortness made it a lot more stable and lessened the error from the tilting of the vehicle.

I like it Deral, good times. I set up the same mount on the back of a silver shield, works great!

I was skeptical about putting a hole in the silver shield but I do think it was worth it in the end.

Currently, I am dreaming up ways to upfit a rhino 660 now, so far no customization just magnet mounts and put the tools and supplies in the bed and the rod proped up on the roll cage.

Gators are awesome, they started the whole trend towards side by sides.

I think client perceptions are that 4 wheelers are for having fun even if you are working wheras they see side by sides as work vehicles. Another plus is that you can ask your client or field crew to join you.

Sometimes it is nice to have one person drive and the other person jump on on off with the GPS.

at my previous job we had one of those quick releases and a magnetic mount which worked if you have a flat metal surface like the roof of the truck.
