I wanted to update everyone on the status of my previous foundation survey post. To remind everyone, I performed a foundation location survey in a newer subdivision and found a fence encroaching 2.5 feet on my clients property. I also found irons which matched the fence. The record matched my determination and in the field I set the irons at my computed locations. My phone calls to both the original subdividing surveyor and the surveyor who performed the neighboring foundation survey were quite fruitful. The original surveyor indicated that the irons were original set correctly and should match my survey. The neighboring surveyor, while he didnt admit to setting the irons incorrectly has a) prepared a new survey which matches mine and b) paid to move the fence. I think he did the right thing and he was very quick to resolve the problem. We all make mistakes, kudos to him for handling this right. Thanks to everyone for your comments.

Thanks for the update. Sounds like this one worked out well for all. Harmony in, harmony out.

:good:
Communication is the key. Too bad so many either don't know how to communicate or refuse to do so.

I still want to look for the original holes right there in the immediate vicinity of what you set. Not important now as you have solved the issue nicely. Very nice that the other surveyor jumped up and fixed things. All the good ones do, but not all of them are that good.
