I am fairly new to using Topcon's TopSurv 8 on a FC-2500. I cannot get the space key to work when I locate a point and am trying to code a point description but I can get it to work if I edit the code later. Is this a quirk in the software or have I missed a setting? I am working on my code library that should fix this but in the meantime it's a bit inconvenient. I have read the instruction manual but can't seem to find what I need to do so any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Phil

TopSurv 8.anything does not allow spaces or other delimiter characters in the codes. TopSurv uses the space as a delimiter between the code and the control code. Other delimiters are reserved for use between the code and attributes (depth of manhole or size of tree for example). You can configure the software for notes instead of codes to get around this limitation but there are shortcomings there as well.

See this [msg=102523]post[/msg] for links to a tutorial on Topcon University on the differences between Code Vs Notes.
