I've never heard of that manufacturer before. Seller claims it is of 1860's vintage. Anybody know anything about these??ÿ

He is very knowledgeable of antique surveying equipment (almost anything old related to surveying) and a really nice guy. I have purchased a few things from him directly over a cup of coffee over the years.

I have a Buff & Berger No.1B s/n 2586. I think from right around the time Buff & Buff took over in 1898??ÿ If anyone has further info, intreasted in learning more about it.
