I've never heard of that manufacturer before. Seller claims it is of 1860's vintage. Anybody know anything about these??ÿ

That image came from the Compleat Surveyor website, which is owned by Russ Uzes, who is the son of the late Bud Uzes, who wrote "Chaining the Lands." http://www.mdshs.org/In_memorial/Bud_Uzes_Bio.htm

I have a Buff & Berger No.1B s/n 2586. I think from right around the time Buff & Buff took over in 1898??ÿ If anyone has further info, intreasted in learning more about it.
