One of the field crews had an interesting encounter today. They met a homeless man that claimed to have been a PLS. They told me about it and I looked it up. He really was a PLS up until about 2010. I wonder what happened that he went from a PLS/business owner to living under a bridge. They swapped surveying stories for a few minutes until he got emotional talking about family. The guys on the crew prayed with him and invited him to church to get some help. God help him.
That reminds me of what could have happened to a fellow I know.?ÿ One day after lunch he laid his head down on his desk as if taking a nap.?ÿ In fact he was having a stroke.?ÿ At some point, a co-worker or two needed something so tried to get him to wake up.?ÿ Since that day his memory is like swiss cheese.?ÿ Might recall something today but not be able to recall that same thing tomorrow.?ÿ Fortunately, he had good family support to watch over him.
Sounds like a causality of the 2007-09 recession...
@surv8r?ÿ
Several times; I felt like wrapping everything I could fit into a hanky, tying it to a stick and heading out the door...

I'm not familiar with that recession. Perhaps you referring to the 2007-2014 recession?
I warned him not to raise his rates.
We're busy enough we would have told him to show up at the office for work. We'd get help with our work; work would likely help him.
You never know what tomorrow will bring.?ÿ He could have been like many of us before something happened to change his life forever.
Dang! Not looking for a name, but was it a fellow Georgia Surveyor?
Sadly enough, yes. His license lapsed in 2010 or 2012. I'll message you some info.
