A while back I posted about using an aerial photo from 1950 to try and help me find the original center line of an old road bed.
It is pretty amazing what can be accomplished with a shovel.
With some search coordinates in the collector, I staked out to a few points and put a post in temporarily.
Just turning over a shovel full of dirt from one side to the other, I was able to find the old gravel base material under the layer of grass and dirt. Each edge was very well defined.
My scaled in aerial photo was only off by about 5 feet.

The two most important tools in the truck: a good sturdy shovel and heaping helping of common sense. Good job
