Do you have any services or products you're making available to your clients that aren't mainstream yet that they've really enjoyed?
I'm on a on-site fly-in/fly-out job that gives me quite a bit of downtime between field calls and there's only so many times I can re-run control and re-calibrate equipment. I'd love to spend to some learning some new tricks beyond the typical field work we all do.

A few recent ones I've done are:
?ÿ
- Aerial surveying a previous job, 350 acres earthworks project with a P4P, creating a point cloud of the bare ground surface, turning that surface into a 3d object in C3D and then 3D printing a 4'x2' real life model. This allowed us to sit around the model and have site specific discussions and greatly reduced communication error. The model was made up of tiles that could be replaced as the site progressed and the topography changed. The biggest drawback of this was the amount of time it took to print. Hopefully as the tech progresses this will be improved.
- One of the biggest complaints I hear on big sites is the amount of disconnect and confusion of each trade actually know what exactly is being built. They'll know their task but not how it ties into the entire project. So I went through the 240 pages of plans for the current site I'm on (a large industrial site) and 3D modelled every square inch of concrete, pipe, anchor bolt, pile, steal beam, ect being placed. I then used C3D 2022 and its very handy feature of Shared Views to allow anyone on site to open the 3D model via a web browser and smart phone, tablet or computer. It has been immensely useful to aid in communication and understanding of the plans.
- We do bi-weekly flights with our drone on the current site I'm at. Collecting video and orthos for our clients to share to stake holders and use for planning purposes. Last flight I took the 3D model I built, converted it into an fbx with Navisworks and took the 3D model and tracked it into the aerial video with Blender to give people a real world idea of what the project will look like when its finished and where everything goes relative to the ground as it sites right now.
- I made a 5D construction animation with the proposed timeline of the project. It's helpful to understand what will be built and when. The visualize the order of construction.?ÿ
