Our survey chariot was that three door something-or-other of which you speak. And it was an ugly brown color.
The back doors opened like refrigerator doors, left one to the left, clockwise, right one to the right, wittershins.
It was a 4-speed(?) stick shift on the floor and had a low gear so low we never used it.
And it held all FIVE of us.
