I have looked high and low. I am trying to find a 1930's era A. Lietz Catalog. I have acquired a transit date 1934 from the Dept. of Agriculture Forest Service. I have visited Survey Antiques and they have copies up until 1919.

thanks for your help

I am looking for illustrations/photos of the transit that I have and anything the maker might have to say about the model. I think I have seen a the 1938 catalog on line some where but i just can seem to find it again.

Sokkia Corporation in Olathe KS is the successor to The Lietz Co.(or maybe Topcon Sokkia these days). Name changed in the early 1990's when Sokkisha Co., Ltd. chose Sokkia as their new corporate name.

A few catalogs from the A. Lietz Co. were still around a few years ago in the corporate archives. Try the contact us on Sokkia.com web site after choosing United States. Web site seems to be down right now though. (Sunday PM)

Dane,

I have the following Lietz Catalogs:
16th Edition 1928
17th Edition 1938 and
18th Edition 1945.

Send me a photo and some data on the instrument.

I believe you have either a Model 5E Weighing in at 15 1/2 pounds or
a Model 11E (smaller than the Model 5E) weighing about 10 pounds.

Tim
