Thanks for posting this. Some of the images were particularly interesting. I did not see the name for the theodolite used before the adoption of the T2. Do you what it is? The USC&GS used the Parkhurst.

The two-tiered setup for the gravity meter was also interesting as was the picture of the Mekometer. The Mekometer was/is an interesting device. For some discussion about it and its calibration, see: http://www.slac.stanford.edu/pubs/slacreports/reports03/slac-r-403.pdf
