Is the OS up to date on the "bad" controller? Having an outdated version of windows can mess with the install process.

Forgot to mention that. He had recently done windows updates, just not access updates. We looked into the windows updates the other day and there was just some optional "quality update" which I think he did end up doing before trying again.

TA installation manager will always show the most recent version at the top, but your software warranty might have expired before the recent release came out. 2023.1 came out in October, so neither of your collectors have the ability to install it.

Well in the case of these ones something is wrong because they aren't showing the latest version. As far as I know nothing has been done about it yet, he's still running 2021 on the one and it's eligible for at least an update to 2022.something if it would show up.

I finally got to update ours today. Arghh what a head a he with one. Somehow he or another person that is a so called expert met him on a job Friday from out of state . Well he went to export a jxl file and no permissions. Somehow the projects folder’s got some permissions thing all denied for read write in windows and first they had hidden the folders. I was pulling my hair out this morning. Lol. Finally got everything figured out. I said never ever let that guy touch your equipment. Its not the first time he messed up some stuff. I hadn’t had all my coffee yet so i was a bit grumpy.

Just a note on expirations. TIM "senses" your licenses from the Trimble cloud. You can see your expirations in mytrimbleprotected.com. Login, and in the main menu above you see a search bar. Upper left defaults on "Serial Number". Simply copy paste the serial number of Access (which will always be the Serial number of the controller". Press GO, and you will see two items (Access and the Controller). Tap on Access and observe the Factory warranty. If you are even one day past the Trimble Protection Plan (TPP) or the Factory Warranty End date, then TIM won't let you get the version of access released after that date without renewing the TPP. Just some fodder to get the real skinny on expirations of HW and FW and Access warranties all without a call to the dealer.
