I often find myself copying labels from around my drawings,
and changing the text in the Text box. But hitting return only closes out the box, and does not give me the option to start a new line.
Can someone let me know if there is a shortcut or way to
select a label (single line) and open it in a Multiline Text editor.
Up until now I've been stacking labels here and there since when I didn't
want to bother creating an outline for Multiline Text then typing from scratch.
For example, if I wanted to copy a distance label, and then turn it into a multiline note. These are brief 2-3 line notes usually.
Hope there's an easy way. Key strokes, for changing properties?
The only time I've found myself using the Multiline Text is when typing extensive legal descriptions.
Thanks.

Perhaps I need to just learn to get efficient at making MTXT boxes, and having
any text already copied and ready to paste on arrival.
Is that the way of most?
Under Annotate, Annotate Defaults, General Tab, about a 1/3 of the way down on the left side of the window check the box for "use mtext". Now all of your labels will be mtext and all you'll have to do is adjust the box size when you type in the larger note. TWISTTXT is also handy when you've copied a label to multiple locations and need to rotate the copied text to the linework.
Edit a text line, hit Ctrl C to copy it, Escape.
Open an mtext box, hit Ctrl V to paste it, close box.
Redo until all the text you want is in the mtext box.
Brute force always works.
