We are trying to import a feature code list into an open job in Survey Pro. However, when you navigate to the feature code file and select it, Survey Pro then asks for what layer you want it in, as if we were importing a point file.

The feature code list works/loads through Foresight DXM.

Any ideas on how to do this? There seems to be a menu option missing from Survey Pro. Isn't there supposed to be a FILE>FEATURE CODE IMPORT option to choose?

No help here, I'm not familiar with Topcon, sorry. If you think you have it bad, try reading some of Beer Legs' and J.D. Juelson's posts, about Topcon DCs - software.

From the Job Menu > Auto Linework Routine- there is a pull-down box on the middle right side of the screen that might allow you to import descriptions

we transfer our feature code file to the dc and store it to survey pro jobs folder.

then when a job is open.
job>settings>files and select the feature code file we want.

not sure if this is what you're looking for or not.

my version does ask for layers- it just accepts it and moves on. What do you have for file extention?

It's an .fea extension. Isn't supposed to be just a .txt file? I know a regular Description File is a .txt.

ours are .fea files. - Haven't had any time to monkey with it today. Maybe later when I get my day downloaded and checked.
