Yeppers ... I have moved to my boat, which means I had to convert all my TerraModel drawings to DXF(don't trust the DWG).
As always, with a major ... of which I've had a few ... something just doesn't get done.
Well, I mean I did it ... at least in my mind I did it ... but alas the same Gremlins that haunted Captain Kirk on that airplane has done something with that file. Everything else was done, save, converted or what-have-you
I have a dreaded "PRO", file that needs a "6", changed to a "5", a distance of 269.xx' changed to xxx.xx'(I have it, but not in front of me), and a land-hook added and I can't run TerraModel on my laptop ... and I don't have the DXF either.
I hate to ask, but if someone could lend me a hand on this I'd greatly appreciate it.
John

I am a terramodel user (and big fan of the software). I should be able to help, if you are not in a great tearing hurry. I assume that you want to send me the terramodel file, have me make the corrections, write out a dxf version of the file, and send that back to you (with or without the modified terramodel file also included)? I would of course need the exact correction data, and some way to know where in the drawing the corrections need to be placed (unless that is obvious). I have no idea what the hell a land-hook is, how to add one, or why you cannot run terramodel on your laptop. If you want me to have a go, send me the info and the terramodel file. If you are happy with the result, you can mail me $20. for my trouble.
Hi John
Yeh ... the software is fantastic, but the support team had been a thorn in my backside since 1992 ... then, when they re-wrote the software for WINDOWS 32-bit, they didn't think it was "important", to make drawings pre-dating June 1995 available to the new program ... I lost access to thousands of files and it's been a Love/Hate relationship since.
My last update to 9.7, restricted all the survey traversing routines(it became protected, I think), and all the image management disappeared ... a furtherance of the Love/Hate relationship. Even if I upgrade to a USB dongle(to use on my laptops), the reduced functionality(plus the cost of upgrade), turns me off.
Anyway, thanks for your offer ...
I'll get your email and send the file. If you could, just give me a non-binary DXF file of the 2000 vintage ... big help
John
