Opening DWG files with Civil 3D

This is going to settle a argument.  I acknowledge the stupidity of this question.  

Proper Civil 3D etiquette when opening a dwg file:  Should you use the open command from the menus and navigate to the drawing you would like to open OR double click on the actual drawing file in its network location.
