Just want to start the conversation if anyone (especially in the USA/State DOT) is still using MicroStation (ORD) for Right of Way Mapping, especially DOT, since GeoPAK has been retired.
I??ve noticed many State & local Governments have transitioned away from CAD to the ESRI/.shp space.
Cannot find any significant info from most of the State DOT websites.
Most in the Surveying & Mapping Community that I know of, are still in the MicroStation SS10/GeoPAK space.?ÿ?ÿ
MicroStation user since 1996.

South Dakota still uses Microstation Inroads. Working to transition to Openroads.
CDOT is deep into Open roads
?ÿ
Our Idaho offices regularly use ORD on DOT projects.
I've been out of the game for a year but its a good bet most DOT's are using ORD or soon will be for highway and ROW design. Actually one of the things that encouraged me to leave the game was migration to ORD. PITA
Ohio DOT CADD standards lists:
PowerGEOPAK V8i (SELECTseries 10) and MicroStation V8i (SELECTseries 10) as well OpenRoads Designer CONNECT Edition and other packages.
I really question if ODOT is V8i?ÿ
They have many ORD training videos on YouTube.?ÿ
I heard Texas DOT is going to ORD Connect sometime this summer
@squirl?ÿ
That reminds me Connect is technically correct. Many use ORD interchangeably when referring to Connect but to Bentley they are different.?ÿ They look mostly the same.?ÿ
ITD - Idaho?ÿ uses Microstation ORD.?ÿ Its such a PITA program for surveyors i can't even begin to describe the issues.?ÿ I truly don't know how any survey could actually use the program for analyzing and determining boundaries.?ÿ Luckily the linework and points can easily convert from Civil3d, which is what we do.?ÿ The topo side of things is even worse IMO.?ÿ The simple inability of the program to hold TIN edits is inexcusable.?ÿ Again, luckily we've figured out a way to create the surfaces in Civil3d and import to ORD.?ÿ I hear it's good for Highway design.?ÿ?ÿ
Ohio.
Oregon DOT's CAD Standards manual, updated within the last year, makes a single reference to Microstation CONNECT. There is no reference to Inroads or Geopak.
