I am setting up a code library in Topcon Magnet (within the field software, i dont have magnet office) so i can create line work. When setting up the code it prompts me for the "name", "type", "description" and "layer". My question is; what goes on the layer? The point number, Elevation and description or the linework/ symbol or all of it? I have a large library and would like to figure it out before going thru each code.
We don't have magnet office either and only export the point file 95% of the time so layers don't come into play.
I did try using them during an asbuilt survey, were I had every shot taken during the life of the job, in the file. It helped to keep the map screen legible, as I turned off the zero layer (which the upload came in on) and the new shots were on an ASB layer. Really had to stay on it though as it seemed every time you'd exit the topo screen, it'd default back to zero for the next point.
