That sounds horrendous, to have to make a copy and change a bunch of stuff just to plot.
Doesn't your Plot Style take care of all of that?
If you need more colors, can't you just go to an unused color and change settings to match the settings that you want?
Acad is much simpler in this regard.

It's a lot easier than you think. I do not have to make a copy. I make one because it's my style. I like keeping the original created drawing intact.

I create PDF that I email to a printer.

Need more colors? Why? I use 5 plot colors for all maps, why in the world would I need more?

Alls I wanted to find out the default line weight of a leader arrow, and look where we've gotten too... Who says surveyor can overthink anything (me)?
