Ok, I just bought a Leica TCRP 1203 and Carlson Survey 2012 with embeded autocad. So far I have not been able to get the raw data from the 1203 into a Carlson raw data file. The carlson dealer and the lieca dealer both asured me that this was possible. Does anyone know if this is possible? Or do I have to buy other software, such as LGO.
In the data collector or instrument... Export the data to RW5 format to your USB stick or CF card. We use the same setup... Works perfect. Just review the RW5 file... There are slight differences in how SurvCE and Viva write Traverse and setup data.

If it is a *.gsi, *.raw or *.gre file, then open your raw file editor in Carlson, click "File" then "Import" then "Leica". That should bring it in and you can then save it as a *.rw5 file.
Thanks for the info. It gives me some confidence that the software that I have might work. I have gotten leica data into carlson raw files before but it has not come in a useful form. I have just imported a raw traverse into a Carlson .rw5 file. My occupy points and backsight setups are missing. Also, all of my sets came in with just the average angle. Each individual angle is not listed. Also, each observation is called a DS. There are no sideshots, occupied points, backsights, traverse shots named. It there a trick to making the data come in automatically? As it is, there will be a considerable amount of editing.
