Keyboard Lag in Carlson Survey Command Line

Had this happen before and for the life of me cannot remember the remedy...

I am using a wireless keyboard and trackball, but tested with wired units the same. It is though there is a buffer on the command line; when going from screen picks to keyboarding, it takes two strokes to type and then is fine while typing. Once I switch back to screen picks, same scenario.

All other apps are fine, just Carlson seems to be affected...

Any thoughts?
