OK, mine has finally stopped working in all colors, except black. (You should run a page, that has lines of all the colors, once a month, to keep the jets clean, and running) I did not do this, and yellow stopped first. Then, red went blotchy, now blue is blotchy. I like color final plats. It started getting on my nerves. I called the guy at inkproducts.com. He told me the rest of the story. First off, this is his youtube video:

My problem was the ink tubes, between the Ink Supply, and the print head were filled with OLD and THICK ink.
He told me to buy 2 30cc syringes, (local farm supply) and 2 18 gauge needles. (I'd recommend sanding the needles tips, so they are NOT sharp) Fill one of the syringes with Windex. With no needle, press the syringe down where the ink supply goes, and lightly depress the plunger. (2 people is handy) Then take the other syringe, with dulled needle, and poke it through the membrane, where the Print head goes. Start PULLING on it. This results in flushing the line with windex, getting rid of the old thick ink. After flushing it clean, then install the ink supply, and PULL ink out of it, until it is nice and clean ink. Re-install the print heads, and then the machine HAS to run a test page, where it prints a pattern on a page, and it has a scanner in the plotter, that READS the printed page, and alligns the print heads. Mine had to run the test page 4 times, and then it settled down, and it is BACK TO NORMAL, and prints nicely.

Yellow is still not printing, because the print head is too dried out. So, I need a new yellow print head. All the other colors are good. It is printing as good as new, except no yellow. I have ordered 4 extra print heads, and fresh ink.
So nice to have my old HP 100 plotter running again.

I'd bet that some of this info will be useful for some of the other printers out there, with thick ink in the lines.

Nate,

Try letting the print head sit with the nozzles in a windex solution. I have a Brother MFC6490CW that is having similar problems. My research found this tip. Hopefully it will help you out.

Thanks for the info.

I got the new print heads in the mail today. I installed the yellow one, (after pulling the tape protector). It now prints all 4 colors.

I also learned how to force it to print all 4 colors. While it is ON, Press and hold the ON button, and then press the paper feed button 3x. It will now feed ink, and perform a head alignment.

Keep ink in lines fresh.
