Hi all, very old topic but very useful for me in this very moment.
Currently i am looking at two used TS - Topcon QS3 and Topcon GPT-9003A. Both are only total station, WITHOUT 360 prism, RC remote or data collector.
My plan: I have Panasonic M1 with SurvPC 6(have both total station as options to control) and will try to acquire the rest from ebay or if someone selling 🙂
My Questions are:
1. Is it possible to skip RC remote? (I know it will make my life easier but have a feeling will not be easy to acquire)
2. Does any Topcon 360 prism will works on it or has to be model specific?
3. How can I connect the tablet with the station?
- i know both stations have 2.4 GHz radios instead of Satels. (Is it the same 2.4 GHz as the wifi goes, respectively can i connect both wirelessly and what would be the range ? )
- can it be bluetooth and what would be the range ?
- From the previous replies on the discussion looks like i need to acquire 2 parani's and trick it is a long cable. Hiccup: tablet have usb, not serial data.(Found there is USB Parani - Parani ud100. Can i connect Parani ud100 with SD100/1000)
4. In this setup is there any benefits buying QS3 over 9003A? What would you advise?
