For you desk jockeys out there,?ÿ consider upgrading your computer monitors to 2x27".?ÿ
After reading the Win10 computer thread, I bought a couple of 27" Acers for stupid cheap on Amazon and wow what a difference (vs 2x23").
Highly recommend for those of us stuck in a chair for most of the day.

That's the size we run at our office, makes working in Civil 3D much more enjoyable when you can push all of your menus to one monitor and maximize your drafting space.
43" smart tv as my main monitor and 17" laptop display as second.?ÿ Works good.
The price on 27" monitors is in the sweet spot right now. I picked up a pair (LG) for home use at Costco for $130 each. I've had a pair at the office for some time.?ÿ They should hold me until 32" monitors get into that price range.?ÿ Perhaps I'll add a 3rd 27" monitor while I wait.
Back when I first started in CAD (1989) it was a single 13 inches of monochrome screen real estate. Amber or green lines on black. And a pan generated screen refresh could take a couple minutes. We've come a long way.?ÿ?ÿ
I just upgraded my video card (2060 RTX), so I am in the hunt for a new pair of monitors - I have a rack for 4, so I may just add them in
Back in the old days, I started on a VAX mainframe with a terminal - then moved to ACAD V9 with softdesk on a 286 with a 40 meg HD and 2MB ram and a 14" mono screen ( about $1500 at the time) - Once I ran a large DTM ( maybe 200 points) and it took 16 hours to process - oh but it was beautiful?ÿ
Now I do some point clouds so I have a dual Xeon ( 16 cores ) and 48GB ram and stack it for periods of time during processing
I have heard that one older iphone has more computing power than NASA did when they went to the moon - the whole agency with all the computers they had
Looks like I am off to Costco for new monitors
Really, really love my 34" LG Ultrawide (3440 x 1440)
I need a monitor upgrade as mine are not 4k and my new comp has a an RTX 2080 ti in it.?ÿ The two 32" ones I currently have seem fine, but, I imagine that I will not be saying that after the 4K transition.
Wendell, what no sticky notes??ÿ I am impressed, I always have some no matter how hard I try not too
My latest monitor is an LG 29in ultrawide.
It hangs on a wall mount between two Samsung 24in.
I bought 2 of these this summer.
Absolutely amazing and I couldn't be happier.?ÿ I had a pair of 27 inchers before this and there's no way I could go back to using dinky screens like that.
I personally do not like 4k for a monitor. It creates too much eye strain for me and depending on how far i sit, i don't usually go for big screens.?ÿ
I find most 27" 1440P monitor to be just about perfect. Preferably an IPS panel for "work" type stuff.?ÿ
Right now i'm running a 32" 2560 x 1440 monitor. What's nice about this monitor is the stand. I can have my laptop closed and fit under the stand with my Dock.?ÿ
