Hello all,

Please could someone help me on this, I have been miserable for a few days now trying to get it sorted to no avail. So I use a GPS1200 SmartRover and a GS09 system as well, and in the past, I just take out the CF-Card repetitively and plug it to my PC with a CF-Card-To-USB reader. That usually worked well until recently, I lost all the files in the CF-Card due to some sort of data corruption in the field. I think it is safer to keep the CF Card in the controller and extract the data with a USB cable instead, so I bought a GEV234 for that.

After a lot of Googling, I already found this old thread: https://rpls.com/forums/discussion/rx-1250-data-transfer-question/

Instead of necro-ing the old thread, I think that it would be better to open a new topic on this. It is 04:00 AM right here and I have tried almost everything but couldn't get it sorted.

In short, I am trying to install the drivers of my Leica GEV234 cable in order to get it to work with my LGO 8.4 and transfer the data from my RX1250 and CS09 controllers into my PC, which is running Win10.

What have I tried/done so far?

1. Went to myWorld portal, download the Drivers available for the GEV234 right there, there was a version for XP, Vista, 7 and the other version was for Win8. There was no readily-available driver for Win10, so I just downloaded what I found.

2. When I connected the RX1250 or the CS09 to my PC with the cable, nothing happened. Then I opened Device Manager and found an unrecognized icon called "RX Controll"

3. I tried to click on Update Driver, select Browse my computer for driver software, then click on the Browse button and browse to where you had unzipped the GEV234 driver file you had downloaded from Leica myWorld. When I selected the WIN8 Driver version, it returned an error. It just says "Windows was unable to install your Rx Controll". Then I tried to install the WIN7 Driver option for it, and it gave another strange notification. It just says Windows
found drivers for your device but encountered an error while attempting
to instlal them. The third-party INF does not contain digital signature
information.

All that being said, I hope that if one of the gurus here may find a working solution for this, I'd be immensely grateful! What I don't understand is that the Leica GEV234 cable is officially still used in WIN10 with the newer GS10, GS15, and the newer CS20 data controllers and from the googling that I made, there seems to be a native .EXE that will install the cable driver for these instruments for WIN10. It is just weird that Leica does not provide any solution for the RX1200, 900, and CS09 controller given that so many people still use these up to now.
