In civil when annotating a line for bearing and distance we have several different options - colors - fonts. some with brackets for measured versus deed. Is this an option in Carlsons? I have not found where I can edit or create Multiple annotation options
Within Annotate -- Annotate Defaults is a Save button which permits you to create a named *.ADF file (you can subsequently load a desired *.ADF file for a particular annotation need).
Also, within Annotate -- Auto Annotate is an Apply Settings by Layer option (also previously mentioned) which permits (among other things) a particular *.ADF file to be associated with a particular layer. Thus, if your drawings follow a layer standard where certain types of linework always fall on certain types of layers and require certain types of annotation styles, the "Apply Settings by Layer" option can make short work of your annotation efforts once set up.
I hope this information helps.
@ladd-nelson yes this did it. Thank you. I have used Carlsons for what seems like forever- had a trial of civil 3d and really liked that add label feature. I do prefer civil for dealing with points on screen, coord files or lack thereof and being able to change the size of the points by just changing the scale in drawing (lower right). However I??ve had Carlsons since 1995, now running 2020 and I love the user friendly layout and customer support

thanks again for the help?ÿ
@rotatenorth Thank you for the update/feedback. Carlson does support annotative points (has now for several releases). Look under Points -- Point Defaults -- Use Annotative Points (this will only be for new points being placed into a drawing). Further, you'll probably want to explore the Use Annotative Scale toggle found under Settings -- Carlson Configure -- General Settings.
I hope this information helps.
