I have a drawing with two layouts, each with their own viewport. I cannot freeze a layer in either viewport without having it freeze in both layouts and my model space...basically it seems like the "freeze on current layer: function isn't working. It does this when I use the button and when I try to freeze it in the layer manager...on the new VP freeze.

Any ideas?

Model space and paper space fun and games. Your viewports are basically paper space items. To freeze a layer in a viewport you must be in model space when you check the VP Freeze icon. That should freeze that layer only in that viewport.
Type ms and move your cursor inside the view port. Then you can freeze individual layers.
Or is this what you have already done? Be sure to check out the webinar that That Cad Girl did on paper space and model space in the training films on the Carlson website.

I got it...my layers manager didn't have a scroll bar the bottom so I had to grip and stretch it in order to see the other VP freeze options so I can do it that way. If I'm working in model space via a VP in paper space and try the freeze layer button, it freezes it across the board rather than just that VP. I thought that was kind of odd.
