Hello Friends. I'm adding drone services soon and the piece of the puzzle I am trying to find is good point cloud software. I use Carlson for my survey drafting and know they have the point cloud software. Others have recommended Terra Solid. Their website appears to be down as I type this.
I just had a class with a man who is successfully operating a drone service that uses the latter. He is getting centimeter accuracy in the point cloud.
Any pros and cons of either of these? Do you know the price of either of these?

Carlson ALWAYS plays better with Carlson.
I have heard (I have not yet gotten the Point Cloud package) that Carlson's product is very good. I have used several Carlson products and have yet to encounter one that I thought was inferior to the competition. Generally, once you learn how to use it, you find it to be superior in many areas.
Remember too, Demonstration classes have ONE GOAL and are designed to work flawlessly. (That's why I do Training Classes, but NOT sales demo's.)

I use Carlson Point Cloud.?ÿ I also use Global Mapper and Quick Terrain Modeler.
For the surveyor getting into clouds, Carlson is a great way to go.?ÿ You virtually survey using your own codes.?ÿ I can provide guidance thadd@ese-llc.com?ÿ?ÿ
Global Mapper is great.?ÿ They just added photogrammetry - Pix2Points or something that will convert your drone images to point cloud, then cloud to ortho image.
Quick Terrain Modeler is special.?ÿ There are some great uses.?ÿ I take the aerial LiDAR to pre-plan drone flights as it includes a very quick line of sight feature.?ÿ I can then place my pilot in a location where they can see the drone 100% of the flight.?ÿ I can also see if I need a spotter and where they would be placed.?ÿ?ÿ
