This came from an MEP firm using the Building Suite. I only have Carlson and C3D 2012 right now. Under the seats there should be diffuser symbols but they just come in as Proxy Objects for me. I can see them in TruView 2014 but every time I try to convert the drawing I get a fatal error.

Is there a way for me to view these in older C3D versions? We have all the object enablers I can think of installed. Is there anyway to view these in Carlson with embedded CAD or with IntelliCAD?
Thanks
Tom
The info may not be available to anyone without the original design package. It may take having the creator of the file change their proxygraphics setting or do a saveas and select "tools", "options", "DWG Options" tab, and check the box for "save proxy images of custom objects".
Tom,
Here's what I get when I open the drawing in C3d 2014:
I can open the drawing, but it seems to be missing some stuff. I'll go look under the seats. I might find some spare change. 😀
What exactly are you looking for in the drawing? I'll help if I can.
Dave
Yeah there are missing XREF's but the info I need is in that file. Under the chairs there are symbols (they look almost like my light symbols...circles with lines protruding out)...those are what I need. Right now I just see boxes that are proxy objects.
Thanks!
Tom
Thanks! If I can't get the data tonight I'll try that in the AM with him tomorrow.
Tom
Tom,
Is these them?
Dave
Try this. AutoCAD-2010
I could see the objects you describe in AutoCAD 2013. I did the save-as routine that I mentioned above and saved it as ver-2010. Good Luck.
Stephen,
Did you do this to bust it down to 2010?
Dave
No, I'm running plain AutoCAD 2013 with Carlson 2013 on top. I don't have the menu you posted.
Edit: The OP said it was created with a mechanical or building package and I could see the symbols under the seats with plain AutoCAD so I took a chance that it just needed to be saved back to a version that he could open without TRU-View. Proxy objects are strange creatures.
That did it! Thanks!
