I'm stuck and need some help. One of those simple things that are frustrating until you figure it out.

Can someone give me the steps to insert a cad or dxf file to the screen of a Carlson Surveyor2 with version 5 SurvCE?

Thanks in advance

Export your CAD linework as a dxf or if it is a busy drawing, make it a block with the "wblock" command (C3D) or copy and paste into a new drawing then save as a dxf. If you don't want colored lines, change everything to white in model space before creating your dxf.

Transfer this dxf to a folder in your DC

Navigate to the Map screen in SurvCE

Select "file" >> "import" >>import dxf

Find your file and you are good to go as long as your lines occupied the same coordinates in your CAD file as the ones in your DC. If not you will need to stay in the Map screen and translate and rotate them to your points.

Thanks

I was stuck on how to get to "Map View." Found Alt M and then it was a piece of cake.

Crisis averted.

There is also an icon of an earth (I think) in the top right corner of the home screen. If you touch it, you go to your map view and have access to several drop-downs that include importing, drawing and cogo routings.
