Adding Labels into a TSC 3 by using a shapefile

I have roughly 1400 grids to walk and I want to be able to see what grid I am in using the tsc 3 as I am walking through the project boundary. 

Is there a way to add labels in terrasync on the tsc 3 or is there a way to add labels with a shapefile and uploading into a tsc 3? I was told there isn't a way to add labels in a tsc 3 and would need to use different application if I wanted labels to appear as I walk the boundaries of my project site.
