The young man killed in this incident last year was 22 years old. His name was Zach Devane. He was working on his fathers survey crew when he was hit. His father was standing next to him when it happened. The driver fled the scene and was found dead in a creek a few days later. I know that this is old but I am new to the forum and wanted to share this. I knew the father well. I knew Zach well and watched him grow up. Please be safe when working in traffic
Welcome aboard, King Cobra.
The opportunity to not come home at the end of the day is out there every day. It may be your fault or it may be someone else's fault, but the result is the same. It is sad either way.
A 50-year old man ended up in the cemetery on Friday. I know his mother and brother and other relatives but, fortunately, not very much about him personally. He was a semi-truck driver hauling tank-type trailers loaded with freshly manufactured cement. He was driving on the same road he has driven on since he was a teenager. He was following his standard route. Nevertheless, he came to the end of the highway and kept going......straight into the cemetery. That is a "T" intersection of two highways. He needed to turn to the right. He sort of did that just a little bit before he hit the 100 year old cedar trees and the trailer swung around causing the truck to flip sideways at least once. The number of deceased in the cemetery increased by one immediately. The fortunate thing is that no one else happened to be in that intersection as he roared through it.

Thank you for posting this.
It's sad enough to lose a surveyor to these circumstances and the "fleeing driver" just adds to the tradgedy.
Anyway, welcome to this site, its a fun learning experience!!!!
ps: did you fly snakes in combat?
