Not sure how many 3 digit RPLS Texas still has in practice, if any. And the list of Licensed State Land Surveyors just dropped by one. I got to meet Wade through TSPS Chapter 10 activities and wish I were able to talk to him more. He was very knowledgeable about my hometown and had a better memory of history than Mr. Schumann did. He was also a contemporary of my grandfather who moved to Odessa in 1957 and had sons in scouting, same troop I think. Interesting read.
sorry to hear it. my condolences.
last time i counted, before TBPLS screwed up the rosters, there were less than ten w/ numbers below 1000.
Andy,
Is Mr. Schumann still alive? You talked about him in past tense. You probably don't recall but a fe years back I used Schumann Engineering as our LSLS for a Public School Fund section we were surveying just north of Pecos. You had envolvement in it. It was neat to meet a surveyor with that old of a no. I believe I even met with S.W. Howell at the time too. Was he in Midland?
Mr. Schumann passed last March. I remember that project, it was fun because it was part of a problem area/court case and I was mildly amazed to see how close yall matched the correct construction. I seem to recall multiple monuments in the field.
Mr. Howell was in Odessa.
i enjoyed the conversation we had with Mr. Schumann. I recall him telling us when we got his LSLS license, he went down to the county judge and he was asked a few questions. He was granted his LSLS on the spot.
Anyways, that's sad news. Thanks for info. Take care.
